01Information we collect

Aura collects only what it needs to work.

• User ID Aura uses the username or user ID issued by Aditya University for authentication. You do not create an account inside the app, and Aura never asks for your name, email address or phone number.
• Chat messages Questions, prompts and responses are processed to generate replies. Conversation history may be stored so you can return to earlier chats.
• Authentication tokens The token that keeps you signed in is stored securely on your device.

02Microphone permission

Aura asks for microphone access only when you choose to use voice input. Speech recognition runs on your device, using your operating system's own speech services.

03How we use information

The information collected is used only to:

• Authenticate you as a member of the university.
• Generate AI responses to your questions.
• Keep your conversation history available.
• Improve the app's reliability and security.
• Provide university-related assistance and productivity features.

04What we never collect

Aura does not collect or request any of the following:

• Name
• Email address
• Phone number
• Location
• Contacts
• Photos
• Videos
• Audio recordings
• Financial information
• Health information

05Data sharing

Aura does not sell, rent or share your information with advertisers or marketing companies. Information is processed only as far as is needed to run the app, and may be disclosed only where the law requires it.

06Data security

All communication between the app and our backend is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Authentication information is stored securely on your device using the platform's own secure storage.

07Data retention

Conversation history is kept so that you can access previous chats. Authentication information is kept only for as long as it takes to keep you signed in securely.

08Account & data deletion

You can clear your chat history yourself at any time from inside the app. To delete your account entirely, follow the steps on the account deletion page. Requests are normally completed within 30 days.

09Children's privacy

Aura is intended for authorised students, faculty and staff of Aditya University. It is not designed for children under the age of 13.

10Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the revised "last updated" date shown at the top.
